This Frothy Coffee Trend Is Going Viral And You Seriously Need To Try It

Alright, coffee lovers get ready for a viral trend that you’ll actually want to try! With more people spending time at home, people are finding creative ways to keep them busy and today that means making a frothy cup of coffee that is seriously out of this world. This intriguing creation comes from South Korea and is called Dalgona coffee which is essentially a creamy, frothy cup of coffee.

The best part is this drink makes you feel like a professional barista and it only requires 3 ingredients; instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. To create the drink you’ll need to begin by combining equal parts of each ingredient. Then use a hand mixer to create the perfect caramel-colored cloud-like consistency (keep in mind this does take a couple of minutes). You could always whisk it by hand but you should know that it will take you much, much longer. A handheld electric milk frother would also work great too. Once it’s ready you simply fill a cup with ice, pour your favorite milk and then scoop that fluffy goodness on top!

You can make the drink as sweet or unsweet as you like. If you don’t enjoy sugary sweet coffee then we recommend you pour the frothy coffee over unsweetened plant milk — you’ll get that creamy texture and rich coffee flavor but without all the extra sugar. If you do enjoy sweet flavors you could always add a splash of cream to your milk, add flavored syrup to the milk, or skip the milk altogether and pour the frothy coffee over cream — your choice!
