Peanut Butter Bread Is Going Viral: Here’s How You Can Make It

Peanut Butter Bread initially gained popularity back in the summer of 2019 thanks to a YouTube video. YouTube user, Glen & Friends Cooking, shared a video making a Peanut Butter Bread recipe out of a 1932 edition of the Five Roses Flour: A Guide To Good Cooking cookbook.

Now the recipe is reemerging and is going viral on a Reddit subreddit called r/Old_Recipes. Even Instagram users are going crazy for this bread. Checkout the #peanutbutterbread. People are obsessed with this recipe because it requires simple pantry staples that you likely already have on hand. Further, it’s also popular because you don’t have to wait for the batter to rise as it doesn’t require yeast. And finally, it contains peanut butter and that is a win in itself!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
Method
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F
  • Grease a loaf pan with baking spray or butter
  • Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl
  • Mix in the milk, then the peanut butter
  • Scrape into greased loaf pan and bake for one hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean
  • Enjoy!
